Alex is a larger-than–life character who has become a star of the
series, Ice Road Truckers that airs on the History Channel. His full
name is Alexander Marcel Debogorski. Alex was born in Berwyn
Alberta, Canada in 1953. He grew up in the Peace River country of
Alberta with three brothers and one sister. His mother and father
who were born in Poland, immigrated from Britain in 1953. Alex has been
married to his wonderful wife Louise for 38 years and is the proud father
of 11 children, 9 grandchildren, and one more
grandchild on the way.
Alex got into his first truck in 1972 when he started working at the Mckyntire Porcupine Mine in Grande Cache Alberta, Canada and has
remained in one to this day. He’s
a natural shock jock who entertains his fellow drivers on the CB radio
and is completely unpredictable—you never know what he’ll say next. A
few seasons ago, Alex was forced to leave the Inuvik road early because of
critical health problems (blood clots
in his lungs and a heart arrhythmia). In season three, Alex took a job with Carlile
Transportation in Alaska, where the oil business is booming and they
were desperate for experienced drivers. However, Alex had to prove
that he was healthy and truly up for the job. This road is no flat
expanse; it’s icy and mountainous. Alex proved that he was trucker
enough to pull off the season and can guarantee you will see a season
four!
